one of these kids is not like the others

i randomly found this on facebook tonight. how many other photos of me are posted without my being tagged? alright. this is probably the only one, but i can't help thinking there might be others.

i've often wondered if i'm in any photos of someone's vacation pics to new york city or epcot or amish country pennsylvania. i have to be in the background of at least one photo somewhere in someone's vacation album, right? i like to think i am. i like to think when they went back to look at their vacation pictures, they noticed one with an out-of-place girl and pondered, "i wonder if she knows she's in our shot." i probably didn't know. and now i'm haunting their photo.

i'm fascinated by film. no wonder the amish don't like getting their pictures taken. it is as if a layer of you is lifted and stuck in a place in time. kinda creepy, really. my kindergarten self was chilling in someone's photo album on facebook. i wonder if she sings songs to the other children or if they play tag when the user logs off.

this reminds me of the movie 'witches' where a little girl is kidnapped by a witch and placed in a painting on her parents' living room wall. they notice that the girl moves around the painting when they aren't looking. as the years pass, the girl in the painting ages until one day... she's gone.
