Liz and Nash just got back from Seattle where they went to Pike Place Market. Andy and Naomi just got back from San Francisco where they bought a bonsai tree. I just got back from nowhere, but last night I ate some fish and watched Karate Kid. I was with them in spirit. Actually, I ate a turkey sandwich and watched Arrested Development. Ah, the excitement.
But I do have a funny little story (names witheld):
last night i was texting a buddy of mine and he asked about my roommate. i said that she was available and he was telling me that he's no good at asking girls out. so i said, "well i'll make sure to sit next to karly in church next week and you can come talk to us." seconds passed and he didn't respond. huh. weird. then i get a text from karly that said, "huh?" oh crap... no way... did i just...? i replied to karly, "what did i just text you?" she forwarded my message back to me. "well I'll just make sure to sit next to KARLY in church next week..." hahahaha. there's no way to dodge that one. she's the only karly in our ward. so i just said, "ooh. whoops. that was for someone else." luckily she didn't think a thing of it (how that's possible, i don't know). and i didn't tell my buddy about my freudian slip, of course. the end.
another funny story (names witheld, but only to keep with the style of the first story... this is about Sam Willis):
another buddy of mine and i sometimes meet for lunch at the mall food court. he had developed a crush on the chic at Chick Fil-A (pun intended). we'd joke about how he'd make a move. "my favorite sauce is bbq. what's yours?" or "i'll have a number 2, a diet coke, and your phone number, please." impossible, right? so he facebooked (yes, i'm using nouns as verbs to accommodate my writing... it's the 21st century!) this guy we used to work with who now works with this chic at Chick Fil-A. my buddy simply wanted to know if the chic was single. the guy took forever to respond, but it was well worth the wait. his response (paraphrased): "well she's really cautious and picky about guys. she just got out of a bad breakup. she's protective of her 5 year old son, too." bwahahaha. needless to say, my buddy was glad to have been too chicken to ask her out originally (pun intended).

love these stories! oh sam...i can just imagine the pick up lines you two came up with.
pretty much i end up texting andy everytime i text anyone else. its like muscle memory to hit his number. naturally, this makes keeping surprises from him really difficult.
