i saw 'the swell season' on saturday night. excellent show. if you don't know who they are, look them up. they sang a new song of which there are no studio recordings yet, and it really got to me.
i've been walking in a half-light
not sure which way to turn
why must a man lose everything to find out what he wants
i'm gonna wait until it feels right
and when that time has come
wild horses won't keep me back from where you've up and gone
maybe when we're both old and wise
maybe when our hearts have had some time
i'm gonna see you there
i have no high hopes for anyone other than whomever it is who is ultimately the one for whom i've had high hopes. in other words, he's faceless and real and walking around somewhere. it was just a moment in a song that i felt it, but that's why i love music. the swell season connects. so, enjoy.
